Minimum Wage
We believe in a $15.00 minimum wage for all citizens of the United States. The current Federal minimum wage of $7.25 is pure exploitation of workers in America. It's now been more than 10+ years since lawmakers have succeeded in raising the federal minimum wage, the longest period in history since the establishment of minimum wage. It is disgraceful for the richest country in the world to not ensure a livable wage for its citizens. We only support candidates that want a fair wage for Americans.
When we talk about the kind of folks whose lives will be made better by raising the minimum wage, we're not talking about a couple teenagers earning extra spending money to supplement their allowance. We're talking about providers and breadwinners. Working Americans with bills to pay and mouths to feed. - Tom Perez
